Ritik Vala was first introduced to music as a child, through his parents, both of whom were accomplished musicians in their own right. Vala's mother was an award-winning saxophonist and it was her that jump-started Vala's interest in soul music.
Vala took an ardent interest in music at school, before continuing his studies in the subject as Oxford university. At Oxford, he was introduced to Freddie Egan who helped secure a record deal with North West Records - and a #1 debut hit.
